The pine board and batten comes with a clear stain which may weather or change color somewhat over time resulting in a more rustic appearance. In the long run, Duratemp may resist the effects of dampness and moisture slightly better than the pine and will probably be less maintenance.
The 4x6, our most popular chicken coop design, which weighs about 750lbs, is available with either the pine board and batten or Duratemp siding. Our second most popular chicken coop design - the Mini Coop - weighs about 450lbs and is available in pine tongue and groove or Duratemp siding. Regardless of which chicken coop design you prefer, there is virtually no limit to the number of paint/trim/siding/roof combinations. Similarly, you may be able to keep more chickens if they have access to a wire run or are able to free-range rather than being kept inside the coop 24-7.
