To reply to RSTAMPA, You should consider the coop space minimums rather than the coop + outdoor run. The reason for this is preparedness for disease outbreaks in your area or on your farm. If you should have need, could you then do a full lockdown of your coop and fully protect your birds? If by implementing your strongest biosecurity measures (which includes denial of outdoor access during airborne disease outbreaks) your flock does not have enough space to live comfortably for several weeks or a month or more, then you need to reconsider the size of your flock or the size of your coop. All of this is just good common sense and good planning (even though the worst may never happen!). -Dr. McCrea
