I am looking at the barns and coops offered by Horizon. I hope to have both by the end of the Summer.

I'm with ya Steve -- they seem to be very high quality! I would ADORE having a coop to start the chickens in the yard (talk about a free and natural way to both get rid of bugs as well as get some great fertilizer, not to mention farm fresh eggs!) ~ but I do need a coop for them to retreat to.

I've been looking at the coops, too. I'm not sure if my subdivision rules will allow one. Our covenants specifically ban poultry although many people feed geese at the lake and have even installed feeders and nesting boxes.

Wow, that's... interesting. lol.

It's becoming more and more popular for suburban areas to allow a small flock of chickens. You should definitely check it out!

I'm definitely rural so don't have to worry about what I have on my property.

I've probably jumped ahead, in that I've already ordered 2 dozen chicks! Now I need to figure out how I'm going to house them once they are ready for life outside the brooder.

All the Horizon Structures look great. . .it's hard to decide. Any feedback on one versus another?

I am drooling over the chicken coops! A guy I worked with ordered one, which I need to go over and see (he says it's awesome) and I teased him that I was going to call, pretend I was his wife and add another one to his credit card. We are in a subdivision, too and aren't allowed to have poultry, but I might try to sneak in 2 or 3. If I bribe my neighbor with eggs, it might work!
