But mostly I would like to draw your attention to our efforts with Haiti relief. We hope you consider taking action and donating to this important initiative.

The earthquake in Haiti may have occurred four months ago, but the process of rebuilding has barely begun. Even though the disaster has dropped off the media radar, thousands of people are still homeless, living in tent cities and dangerous, half-collapsed buildings. To make matters worse, the Haitian rainy season is in full swing. Take a look at this video to see what happens when a makeshift tarp roof tries to take on rainfall.
Horizon Structures wants to help, and we want to partner with you to accomplish it. We have coordinated with a local 501(c)(3) group to erect our 8 x 12 shelter kits for the homeless in Haiti. It may not be fancy to us, but a stable floor, solid roof, and lockable door make a world of difference for those living on dirt, under bed sheets, and without walls. Your donation of $600 buys a shelter kit—that’s only $6.25 per square foot to provide a real home. By comparison, another proposal for Haiti housing comes in at a staggering $22 per square foot. Our own Dave Zook, president of Horizon Structures, went down to Carrefour, just outside Port-au-Prince, to oversee the first shipment of fifty sheds. The living conditions are still unbearable, he says of visiting a tent city, “and people have their cots up on cinder blocks to keep them off the ground. We are so blessed in this country, and we hope people will unite with us to give back.” Rebuilding Haiti properly will take years, but families can’t
wait that long for shelter. They need the basics now. Click HERE to donate today. Click “Haiti Projects” on the site to find out more. Your donation is tax deductible, for which you will get a receipt by email. A Mountainous

We have added TWO new models to our Backyard Barn Series! First is our smallest model to date, the Welsh. Distinguished from the pack by its single-unit delivery, the Welsh eliminates the need to bring out two separate trucks, as with the larger models. Coming in at 12 x 36, this quaint barn has two stalls and an aisle, and it’s available as a single story or with a gambrel loft. Click HERE to see more and to check out the one we set up on our lot, complete with decorative stone front and overhang!
Our other new model is the Thoroughbred. As the only Backyard Barn model with a full center aisle, the 36 x 24 Thoroughbred is almost exactly like our regular high profile or low profile modular barns—but with even less set-up and $$$! It comes with four 12 x 12 areas which you can design like all our barns, mixing and matching stalls, tack room, open area, or wash room to suit your needs. It can also come with or without a loft. Click HERE for more information. Board Your Horses or Bring 'em to your Backyard?
Many of our customers come to us to buy a barn because they’re
thinking about bringing their horse(s) home to live on their own property.
This endeavor is a huge undertaking, involving innumerable factors to
consider…but the rewards can be huge. We’ve come up with some
things you’ll want to mull over. As you think through your unique
situation, remember bringing home a horse is NOT the same as bringing
home a puppy—so much more is at stake. If you examine the following
issues closely and honestly, you can reach the best decision for you.
