Custom Saunas
With Horizon Structures’ prebuilt saunas, you reap these benefits without the hassles of a kit. Each model arrives fully assembled and handcrafted by Amish builders for lasting quality and beauty.
A backyard sauna not only offers a peaceful retreat but may also support overall wellness. Research shows that sauna use increases circulation and mimics low‑to‑moderate exercise — benefits that can ease muscle soreness and joint stiffness, reduce stress and support cardiovascular health. Regular sauna sessions are linked with improved blood pressure and a lower risk of heart-related events.
Why Choose a Prebuilt Sauna?
- Immediate relaxation
Not significantly. Our floor‑to‑ceiling glass fronts are tempered for safety and insulated to maintain heat. The glass floods the interior with natural light and provides panoramic views without drastically affecting heating efficiency. Combined with robust insulation and a high‑performance heater, the sauna warms quickly and retains temperature. - Health & wellness benefits
Sauna heat increases circulation, eases muscle pain and joint stiffness, promotes stress relief and may improve cardiovascular health. - Year-round enjoyment
Steep rooflines and ribbed metal roofs shed rain and snow, making these saunas suitable for every season. - Privacy & convenience
Enjoy spa like relaxation without leaving home; no more public changing rooms or spa fees. - Superior materials
Western red cedar interiors are naturally aromatic and rot-resistant, while heavy-duty foundations and insulation ensure durability.
The Horizon Structures Difference
Horizon Structures saunas are not kits. Every unit is handcrafted by skilled Amish carpenters using premium cedar, pressure-treated foundations and weather-resistant metal roofs. The result is a sturdy, ready-to-use structure that outlasts flimsy DIY kits and stands up to harsh weather, much like our greenhouses, where heavy-duty materials ensure longevity.
We deliver fully assembled saunas throughout the continental United States, and our customer‑service team can assist with site preparation, financing and customization.

Construction & Materials
- Foundation & Frame: Both models rest on 4×4 pressure treated foundation runners and have 2×4 pressure-treated floor joists, providing a stable base that resists moisture and pests.
- Wall & Roof Framing: Stud walls (2×4 or 2×3 depending on model) are built 16 inches on center for strength, with ½ inch sheathing and tar paper under a 40 year ribbed metal roof.
- Insulation: R 13 rockwool insulation (A Frame) or Rockwool insulation (Lean To) in walls and ceilings retains heat and improves efficiency.
- Interior & Exterior: Western red cedar interiors are naturally rot resistant and aromatic; exterior options include cedar, SmartSide, Vinyl, Hardie Plank, or LP Board and Batten.

Sight Preparation & Delivery
A level, well‑drained area is all you need to receive your prebuilt sauna. Because each unit arrives fully assembled, there is no on-site construction. An electrical connection (220 V for the A‑Frame; 240 V for the Lean‑To) must be provided by your electrician. Frequently Ask Questions
No. Horizon Structures saunas arrive fully assembled. Unlike typical sauna kits that require complex assembly, our Amish‑built saunas are delivered ready to use.
A level, well‑drained base (concrete pad, gravel or pavers) is recommended. Because the sauna is fully assembled, no special foundation is required beyond a flat surface. An electrician should provide a 220 V–240 V connection.
The A‑Frame features a dramatic glass front, two picture windows and a steep roofline for a spacious feel. The Lean‑To has a lower profile, no windows and a wide glass door, making it ideal for tighter spaces. Both use premium cedar and heavy‑duty materials, but the Lean‑To’s compact design may be better suited to narrow yards or placement against existing structures.
Cedar requires little maintenance; occasional sweeping and wiping of benches is sufficient. Ensure proper ventilation after each use and avoid using harsh chemicals on wood surfaces. Check metal roofs and exterior siding periodically for debris.
Yes. We offer multiple sizes and a variety of exterior sidings, stains, lighting options and heater upgrades. Contact our team for a quote tailored to your needs.
The A‑Frame sauna requires a 220‑V connection for the HUUM Drop heater. The Lean‑To includes a 6 kW stainless‑steel heater that operates on a 240‑V circuit. We recommend consulting a licensed electrician for installation.
