- Pine Board & Batten:
Pine board and batten is a superb choice for anyone seeking a natural siding alternative with rustic country charm. We use 1x8 kiln-dried white pine boards, hand inspected to ensure superior, better-grade quality.
White pine is the least resinous of all pine varieties and does not well or shrink significantly with changes in moisture conditions. Long-lasting and very strong it is also naturally decay resistant.
Stain, sealant or paint will preserve color and extend longevity. Left unfinished, this siding will weather to a soft, silvery gray.
HardiePlank is defined as "fiber cement siding." This means the composition is partly wood and partly cement. As a result, it looks very much like wood and is often used in place of clapboard wood siding.
Hardieplank is insect resistant and impermeable to water. As a result, rot, mold and mildew are not an issue. Also, there is never a concern about brittleness or corrosion which may be experienced with vinyl or aluminum siding.
Maintanence is easy. Simply wash as needed with water from your garden hose! A 30 Year Manufacturer's Warranty makes Hardieplank one of our smartest siding options.
Without question cedar is the most beautiful siding available. We offer a choice of shake or horizonal lap.
Cedar contains natural oils which protect the wood from insects and decay including fungi and mildew. Another benefit of cedar is its directional stability. This means it will lie flat and stay straight for many years.
You can't see it but cedar has natural air spaces within the cellular structure of the wood that raise the insulating factors for sound and temperature. Cedar buildings stay warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
To ensure your cedar lasts for years, clean regularly and inspect for termites. Compared to other natural wood siding options, cedar is relatively low maintenance. Left in its natural state, cedar will gradually whiten over the years. To preserve its rich, natural color, apply a clear finish. Restaining is recommended every 4-5 years.
