Timber Frame Horse Barns
The Carriage Style
The inherent beauty of the timber frame construction that showcases the substantial lumber
that is bound together by mortise and tenon joinery with oak pegs goes more than just skin
deep.
Elegance and Practicality
Elegance and practicality are combined in the Carriage Barn Kit as it offers a light and airy loft space with its large 24’ dormer with multiple insulated windows. The loft offers the perfect space to survey your ‘spread’, kick back, and enjoy some relaxation, or even go traditional with the timber frame carriage house barn and provide living quarters above the horses.
The inherent beauty of the massive timber frame construction that showcases the substantial lumber that is bound together by mortise and tenon joinery with oak pegs goes more than just skin deep. Solid core lumber is more fire resistant, offers superior strength to the structure in adverse weather such as seismic shocks or gale force winds versus less sturdy or solid core framing methods and the metal roof sheds snow and water without stress.
The Decorative Appeal
Horse owners certainly appreciate the decorative appeal and clear span space that massive timber construction provides, but the chic almost ‘house’ like design of the carriage style provides top-notch stabling for the equines happily residing below.
Sheltered from the sun with a generous 10’ overhang to one side, the carriage shed stables are kick boarded floor to ceiling with Southern Yellow Pine. Powder-coated grill partitions and stall fronts bring European flair to the 2”x 8” tongue and groove aisle.
Timber Frame is a Heritage Build!
The exterior shell of the Carriage construction building is clad in attractive white pine board and batten providing the traditional look we’ve all come to know and love as horse folks. Add your own stamp on the structure with your choice of paint/stain on the exterior and beams and ask us about lots of additional customizations that are on the design table.
Any owner of the massive timber frame Carriage barn will be ‘beaming’ from ear to ear. The timber frame is a heritage build that offers an unparalleled horse barn legacy to the property for eons to come. And while the structure will last more than a lifetime, the timeline for the onsite construction is typically only around 2 weeks. So why not get started living the dream with our carriage barn plans?
