Garage Flooring Options

Choosing is easy!

As you put together the list of "wants and needs" for your new garage, devote some time to selecting the right type of flooring. The issue may be a no-brainer: Local zoning laws of your budget may dictate the garage floor or base. However, if you're able to choose what you want, here's some helpful information. All our prebuilt and modular garages are available with or without a wood floor. Price of the building is the same regardless of what you choose. A floorless prebuilt model has construction and material modifications that equal the cost of the floor. A build on-site garage has higher side walls (8' vs 7') in place of the floor.

WOOD FLOOR

  • Garage base = pressure-treated 4 x 4 skids
  • Base = 2 x 4 floor joists / 12" on center
  • 5/8" Plywood Floor
  • Aluminum diamond-plate sill

* Ramps are extra

Why we like it...

  • Site prep = less $$$
  • More comfortable to stand on
  • Dropped tools = no damage
  • Simple to repair or replace

NO FLOOR

  • Garage base = 6 x 6 pressure-treated wood beams
  • Garage set-up includes removal of beams in front (and center)

* The no floor option gives you an extra 6" of interior height

Why we like it...

  • Extra 6" of interior height
  • Spills drain away - No problem!
