Horizon Structures is thrilled to partner with Kerry Mann of HomeSteadHow — a leading voice in the modern homesteading community. Known for his hands-on approach to sustainable living, Kerry inspires thousands to embrace self-sufficiency. Together, we set out to create the ultimate chicken coop for his Wisconsin homestead.
We knew Kerry’s vision aligned perfectly with ours — blending craftsmanship, sustainability, and community.
Our INSANE Chicken Coop Upgrade (Biggest Ever?) video
At Horizon, we realize backyard chicken keeping is not ‘just a hobby’ – it’s a micro-ecosystem that embodies the principles of resilience, sustainability, and purposeful living that define modern homesteading. And this is not a ‘passing fad.’ Backyard chicken keeping has been around a long time. It’s a perfect fit with the modern homesteading movement and it’s definitely here to stay.
Backyard chicken keeping isn’t just a hobby — it’s a thriving ecosystem of sustainability and purpose. At Horizon, we share that belief, crafting coops that reflect the resilience and beauty of modern homesteading.
Kerry reached out and worked with our in-house coop experts to design the perfect coop for his 30 chickens. Our project manager helped Kerry every step of the way from design and construction in our Pennsylvania workshop to seamless delivery on Kerry’s Wisconsin homestead. The process began in the Spring of 2025 and Kerry posted his first video on YouTube showing the prefab coop’s delivery on September 17,2025.
The video is cool and shows many of the Standard Features included with every Horizon Structures chicken coop – large or small. However, many people have questions about things that are not discussed in the video, and we’d like to provide those answers here.
