"Helping Hearts
Equine Rescue is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit animal welfare
organization incorporated in the State of New
Jersey. We are dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation
and placement of equines in need; assisting equines
in situations of neglect, abuse or threat of slaughter
located in, but not necessarily limited to Monmouth,
Middlesex and Ocean Counties - in our home state
of New Jersey. To educate the public regarding
the standards of care required to maintain an
equine as a riding partner and/or companion animal
in a humane manner."
Our Goals:
(1) Accept into our program equines
in need;
(2) Assist in the placement of
equines under the care of private owners who
can no longer maintain them;
(3) Provide necessary management,
veterinary and farrier care for those equines
under our protection;
(4) Rehabilitate and adopt out
equines to suitable homes as sport-horse prospects;
pleasure riding prospects or as retirement/companion
animals;
(5) Obtain sponsorships for those
equines who maintain a permanent residency within
the auspices of our organization;
(6) To provide all animals under
our care with a comfortable and dignified existence
without pain or suffering. If and when physical
and medical circumstances no longer allow that
comfortable life; to let them go gently and
kindly with a humane veterinary-assisted euthanasia.

Our Motto

Our Mission Statement
With finely trained volunteers, we promise
to rescue neglected, abused and unwanted horses
and provide them sanctuary through rehabilitation,
retraining and then adoption for some to approved
homes. With equine assisted therapies, we strive
to educate the public about how we can provide
a special link between rescued horses and the
dignified treatment of all children and adults
with emotional, behavioral, social, mental,
physical and/or spiritual needs. At any given
time, as humans help the horses, the horses
help the humans.
What We Do
HorseSisters is many things...
1) An equine sanctuary for abused and neglected
horses, with draft horses and "service
horses" our specialty - which with natural
horsemanship retraining, we give trust and love
again to these damaged horses and adopt them
to carefully screened homes.
2) A therapeutic riding and driving center.
Through our gentle training and retraining and
desensitizing techniques, some of these wonderful
horses show us they can provide therapeutic
riding and driving for our disabled children
and adult clients. H.E.A.T. - HorseSisters Equine
Assisted Therapy, can bring our therapy horses
right to your location. Clairese wrote the proposals
to the Brevard County School Board and Parrish
Medical Foundation to BEGIN the Equine Therapy
Program at Oak Park Elementary in Titusville,
Florida.
3) A place for horse lovers to safely learn
natural horsemanship. We have instructors and
assistants certified in Western & English
with C.H.A. - the Certified Horsemanship Association,
and specifically two wonderfully certified with
CHA as IRD's, or Instructors for Riders with
Disabilities. We have three Equine Special Olympic
coaches, ready to help ALL riders excel in all
areas of riding, driving and showing. We offer
lessons for able-bodied riders from age 6 and
beyond. We specialize in helping former riders
back in the saddle again. Since we have draft
horses and draft horse crosses, we have NO weight
limit, allowing us to specialize in helping
heavyweight riders. We embrace and practice
natural horsemanship training with all our horses
and freely teach our volunteers these techniques,
offering clinics and training sessions for the
public. We also have well known clinicians that
visit to provide free training for us and provide
clinics for everyone.
4) The only non-profit horse drawn carriage
business in Brevard County and all of Florida.
People from all over the state have hired us
and we have donated horse drawn services with
our carriages, hay wagons, surrey with "the
fringe on top", our carts and Dignity Memorial
/ Florida Memorial's caisson for burial services.
These services allow us to take care of our
programs.

Some of our horses here would have been put down
due to their inability to continue to provide
entertainment to some human. Some are so emotionally
scarred from previous owners' abuse that they
are here to simply live out their lives in peace,
knowing they are safe.
Some of the dogs and cats were dropped off here
anonymously and some were picked up from the area
dumps where their owners left them. Of course,
one or two were pregnant upon arrival and gave
me litters soon after settling in. All dogs and
cats are spayed and neutered and given sanctuary
for life.

England Equine Rescues (NEER) is a growing 501(c)3
non profit organization that networks horse people
all over the New England region. NEER is dedicated
to helping all horses (we especially love the
old and unwanted) in any way, including direct
intervention for abused or slaughter-bound equines,
effective horse placement, fundraising, and active
support of the American Horse Slaughter Prevention
Act. NEER needs good homes, foster homes, volunteers,
transport, advice, referrals, and as much support
as we can to help stop the abuse, neglect, and
slaughter of horses. There is no one facility,
no one rescue, but a large NETWORK of people ranging
from an extra stall to larger non profit organizations.
We welcome all horse people, location is not important.
The more people, the better the network. NEER
is 100% volunteer...nobody is paid.
* NEER does NOT sell ANY horses.
*NEER retains ownership of ALL of it's horses.
*NEER does NOT promote any breeding.
*NEER deplores the breeding of rescues.
*NEER has NO paid members.

Ridin’ High, Inc. is
a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization offering recreational
and therapeutic horseback riding to children and
adults with disabilities. Ridin’ High is affiliated
with NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped
Association).
For individuals with impaired mobility,
horseback riding gently and rhythmically
moves their bodies in a manner similar to a human
walking gait.
In addition to the physical benefits of riding
a horse,
our lessons are designed to help riders mentally
focus --
to practice using their concentration
in ways that very often do not come naturally
to them.
And, because our horses are the partners
providing the opportunity to experience the benefits
of riding,
we also emphasize horsemanship skills with every
student.
Volunteers are the key to safe riding for our
students!
In addition to an instructor,
many riders require THREE volunteers --
one to lead the horse and two people to “side
walk”.
Without our wonderful volunteers,
this type of program would not be possible.
Ridin High, Inc. serves Hamblen and the surrounding
counties.

Mission
Statement
It is the mission of Saddlebred Rescue, Inc.
to educate the public on concerns facing the
Saddleseat breeds and save the unwanted horses
from slaughter and return them to useful, productive
lives...READ MORE
Each year
many Saddlebreds will be sold through various
means. The well-meaning owner often believes that
their horse is headed to a loving new home. Although,
this is true in most cases, a frightening number
of Saddlebreds and Morgans end up on trucks slaughter
bound to Canada and Mexico. Any horse is fair
game for slaughterhouses: foals, pregnant mares,
pleasure and show horses. With processed horse
meat bringing over $50 a pound there is a huge
market.
Our goal is to make a difference by educating
the public, our youth, the horse industry, and
the animal protection network who is becoming
more involved in the prevention of cruelty to
horses, providing alternatives/services to the
dealers and auction houses, and the rehabilitation
and re-homing of rescues. Saddlebred Rescue
assists in the placement and care of rescues,
the abused and neglected from animal law enforcement
agencies, and privately owned Saddlebreds, Hackneys,
and Morgans.
We are starting programs to help ensure future
generations know about our wonderful breed and
all they can do. Programs include "Kids
Care", where youth groups are encouraged
to support our efforts and learn to take care
of their horses as well as "The Pegasus
Project", which will enable the rescues
to teach those in need how to drive.
Various locations will be established around
the country where rescues will be utilized to
help people enjoy and learn from them. Those
in need may include families of those serving
the USA overseas, mentally or physically abuse
or handicapped. We believe every Saddlebred,
Morgan, and Hackney deserves a safe and caring
home to live out its life. Saddlebred Rescue,
Inc. does not pass judgment on any person or
sect of people. We are here to help the horses.
We understand the need for people to buy and
sell horses and realize not all horses are suitable
for riding or driving and not all people can
afford to maintain them as companion horses.
We are here to offer an alternative and strongly
encourage all sellers to keep registration papers
with the horse.
